Acer palmatum ‘Caroline’ found and introduced by Dick van der Maat Japanese maple nursery
Acer palmatum ‘Caroline’ is an upright, but spreading round-headed small tree, it will grow rather fast as a young plant.
The young emerging leaves are a light green with whitish pink-tinged variegation,
the colours gradually darkening to a dark grey-green with bright pink variegation in patches of varying sizes.
The leaf margins have very conspicuous uneven toothing.
It is one of the few variegates which trives in full sun.
